A striking and unusually large antique ruby and diamond horseshoe, dating to the Edwardian to early Art Deco period, circa 1910-1920; a beautiful example of both craftsmanship and symbolism.
The horseshoe is set with 16 vibrant calibre-cut rubies and 16 single cut diamonds, arranged in alternating sections that follow the elegant curve of the form. The diamonds are set in platinum-topped settings, a hallmark of fine jewellery from this period, allowing for maximum light return and delicacy, while the underlying gold (testing approx. 12ct) provides strength and warmth.
The scale is particularly rare - far larger than most antique horseshoe jewels - making this a true statement piece while still retaining its antique charm and symbolism.
